The Linux Newb Review: Amarok

Today I wanted to break away from the story of how my conversion is going, and talk about something a little lighter. So here is a small review of Amarok Music Player.
From Screenshots
This little guy is a powerhouse of a music player. It has just about every bell and whistle that you can think of, and the best part about it....Its free, and its in the Ubuntu repositories, so you can use your "Synaptic Package Manager" to install it. I went ahead and tried some other players such as Totem and Audacious, but nothing really gave the same solid feeling of Amarok.

Amarok has some great features for Podcasting, and Radio streams; which really impressed me when compared with players I had used when I was using Windows. On top of all that, it supports Ipods!!! I plugged my nano in, it recogised it, pulled all my music off of it, and was ready to rock in less than 5 min!!

In conclusion, if you are confused on which music player to choose when you move over to Linux...Look no futher than Amarok!
